NFL Centennial Plaza

About the Project

Jones fabricated the Centennial Plaza pavilion and spires for the 100-year anniversary of the NFL in Canton, OH, the birthplace of the NFL. The structure is a steel trellis pavilion, and there are four spires that are each 75' tall and made of stainless steel. The design intent for the pavilion and spires is to represent a football on a tee. Jones was contracted as a specialty steel fabricator to design all structural steel connections, furnish mock-ups of the component sections, and fabricate structural steel for the pavilion, including columns, beams, bracing, etc., for a complete system, as well as fabrication of the four 75' spires sculpture, including design and fabrication of the anti-sway dampers. Both the pavilion and spires are the focal point and most prominent elements of the Centennial Plaza project.
